👁️ G.C. Baccaris is an award-winning interactive fiction developer and freelance writer. Baccaris has created over 25 independent games, and is currently working on more, in addition to The Twine® Grimoire, a series of tutorials on using custom CSS and HTML in Twine® 2.0.

I'm G.C. "Grim" Baccaris, and I'm an accursed artifact with a perilously low drop rate. I'm also an interactive fiction developer, Mediterranean classicist, CSS warlock, narrative designer, and freelance writer.

My work has been featured in Sub-Q Magazine, at PAX Online, and elsewhere, and I've worked for clients representing National Geographic and Boston University, among others.


I hold a degree in English Literature and Classical & Near Eastern Civilizations. When I'm not writing or in a trench looking for pot sherds, I might be huffing poisonous liqueurs, consumed with existential dread, or unconscious.

I'm influenced by an interest in the uncanny and grotesque, as well as ritual, masks, and the gruesome and macabre. Themes of body horror, autonomy, and dignity are recurring elements in the narratives I create.

I'm available for paid freelance, contract, and consulting work in game writing and design. I am also available to create custom CSS/HTML tutorials for Twine® users in beginner-to-intermediate classroom settings (i.e. as supplemental material for high school classes, college courses, or similar).
