I'm G.C. Baccaris, and I'm an accursed artifact of unknown origin. I'm also a writer, interactive fiction developer, Mediterranean classicist, "human person," decaying gay spellbook, and the organizer of MytholoJam and Cryptid Jam. Please call me Grim.
I hold a BA in English Literature and Classical & Near Eastern Civilizations. When I'm not writing or trying to find trenches to dig pot sherds out of, I might be huffing poisonous liqueurs, consumed with existential dread, or unconscious. My work is influenced by an interest in the uncanny and grotesque, as well as ritual, masks, autonomy, and the macabre. You'll find a lot of water motifs, eyeballs, teeth, and body horror in my work, and themes of dehumanization, autonomy, and dignity are recurring elements in the narratives I create.
I began publishing my games in 2016, and since then I’ve released over 20 games in a variety of engines. I’m primarily a Twine developer, but I have experience with Ink, Ren’py, Bitsy, Construct 2, and RPG Maker 2003 & VX Ace. My work has been exhibited at Babycastles and WordPlay and published in L'Éphémère Review and sub-Q Magazine.
